LONHRO continued his impressive Autumn form in this race, outclassing a crack field in devastating style. Jockey Darren Beadman said after the race "I was just a passenger really" and claimed Lonhro was the best horse he has ridden.

A dawdling pace was set by a hard held Dash for Cash with none behind being prepared to make a truly run race of it.

The slow pace set up the race for a blistering last 300 metres, the entire field bettering 33 seconds, but the back markers had no chance to make up the leeway as the bird had flown. Defier was momentarily baulked for a run in the straight. He ran on well but couldn't make an impression.
