Viscount the 13th of the past 20 winners to have gone via the Golden Slipper and just the fourth to have been unplaced at Rosehill (8th) - the others being Mighty Manitou 14th, Wonga Prince 15th and Snippets (fifth). Viscount a tremendous sire prospect as a grandson of Rainbow Quest from the Eight Carat family. His dam a sister to Tristalove and was a $550,000 sale high purchase by the Ingham brothers at the 1990 NZ Premier Sale. Four years later they sought and bought Antwerp's blood brother at Karaka for $210,000. The Zabeel half-brother to Diamond Lover, etc, would race as Octagonal! The English Derby-winning Quest For Fame is also the sire of dual juvenile Gr.1 winner Dracula, plus Oaks winner Tributes and the could-have-been-anything Unworldly.
